Emily Zilber is a cartoonist, writer, and illustrator. Her Ignatz Award nominated comics and visual essays about caretaking, creative labor, living in a body, parenting, and mental health have been published through MUTHA Magazine and the Sequential Artists Workshop (SAW). She is an alum of SAW’s Yearlong Comics Certificate Program.
Alongside her personal creative practice, Emily has spent almost two decades in the arts as a curator and educator. She has held positions at institutions including Cranbrook Academy of Art and Art Museum; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Smithsonian American Art Museum; Tyler School of Art & Architecture; and the Wharton Esherick Museum. She regularly writes and edits for publications focused on art, design, and culture; serves as a guest lecturer and critic; and works 1:1 with artists as an independent consultant.
Emily lives in Philadelphia with her husband, identical twin daughters, and two obscenely furry cats.
